This TV is now old and superseded by other better 120Hz TV’s. Personally, I checked out the 120Hz v/s 60Hz TV’s at Best Buy and I couldn’t tell any difference. I think this is all a gimmick to keep making people pay for new stuff. First there was DVD quality, then ED quality which was kinda HD, then 720p, then 1080i and now BluRay and finally Full HD 1080p. Since this topic of HD is now exhausted, the newest manufacturer trick is to double the refresh rate from 60Hz to 120Hz to 240Hz etc. I have a 5-year old 1080i 50″ Hitachi LCD rear projection TV and I am happy with that. All this new stuff is just to entice customers with buzzwords.

Anyways, coming to this TV, it has good picture quality out of the box. However, the sound quality is average. I played my home music streamed through my PS3 and the sound quality was just average or even below average. There was no bass thump, no oomph in the music. It was flat, monotonous and generally average. Now, I can understand smaller TV’s needing external speakers, but this is a 32″ TV. You should give it good sound. My earlier Samsung 19″ this replaced had better sound.

PS3 over BluRay was good. Game mode is a plus since signal passes unprocessed meaning faster response time. I think this TV has 6ms response time which is good enough for most games. Unless you have super fast motion where you may see ghosting although I think that still will be rare with the 6ms.

Enough ports on the back for the PC, HDMI, component so no complaints. TV Remote is good and well laid out. Light on/off feature on remote is a nice touch for dark rooms.

The red touch of color is barely visible and I could only tell when sunlight fell on the TV. Else you cannot even tell its got the red touch. This is a silly useless feature anyways.

Oh and the swivel feature of the stand is a big plus over Sony and other TV’s in this category.

Overall, I will recommend you buy this but hear out the audio quality first in BestBuy.

I purchased this antenna to try out since it was less than . I was using the Philips PHDTV1 Silver Sensor UHF / HDTV Digital Indoor TV Antenna for two years and was never able to get a couple of the big networks such as FOX and NBC in the San Jose area. I’m not a big spender and so I was very happy to see that the Toshiba 26AV502R 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV was being sold for under 0. I bought it refurbished and it seems to be in perfect working order (no dead pixels) and I couldn’t ask for any more quality for the price. The TV has enough inputs (2 HDMI, 2 components, PC, s-video, analog) and works well with my setup. The volume isn’t a problem, but I prefer it hooked up to my stereo. The picture does look like it leans slightly towards the red spectrum, but for the price, you can’t beat it. This is a small detail and colors can be adjusted through the menu. I have a Xbox hooked up through HDMI (at one point, through components) and the picture comes in great with no lag at all. The PC input is great and I was finally able to project to my TV even though my graphics card doesn’t not have a TV out feature. Since this is a monitor, it was able to project up to the 720p quality of my computer. Hulu never looked better. Overall, I would definitely recommend it to the bargain HDTV buyer. If you have more cash, of course, spend it on a Samsung or a Sony.

I have worked for a cable company as well as a Directv and Dish Network maintainer, so I get a look at TVs at every price level. That said this is a pretty good TV, at the price it goes for this is a great TV. I use it with digital cable, mostly High Def, also an Xbox 360 and a PS3 all through HDMI connections. After some initial tweaking the picture is beautiful. There is no adjustment for the backlight so the picture is very bright,and while this great for rooms with a lot of ambient light, this leads to the one problem that I have with this set, during very bright, usually sunlight scenes, there is considerable blooming of the lighted objects. It only manifest itself under certain conditions and by no means often, but you should be aware. If you’re not looking for perfection from a set, just a good picture at a great price, here it is.
*UPDATE* OK, I had the TV for almost a year now and I must say I’m still impressed with what I got for my money.However, for the zealots out there let me point out a couple of things. First, there are not separate picture settings for each of the inputs, I really thought it would be a problem once I realized it, but I have no complaints with it at all, the picture is great no matter what input I’m using. Next, as I mentioned in when I first got it there’s no back-light adjustment, which I also thought would be a major problem, however I noticed that I only see the blooming in the picture with DVDs on my PS3, everything is being fed with HDMI cables, but I only notice the almost glow off of the PS3. So, as I said before if your looking a tier 1 TV you can brag to your friends about, look elsewhere, but if you want a good TV, a PS3, a few new DVDs, and dinner with your girlfriend for the same price, check this baby out!

The DVD feature works well and is easy to use. The remote is also really easy to use. The sound quality is adequate. I mean, who expects full surround sound in their kitchen? This is the perfect TV for watching the news while I eat breakfast. I am not going to invite the neighborhood over to watch the Super Bowl in my kitchen. If you are looking for a smaller LCD TV with DVD capability and a great picture, this is a solid choice.

Installed the Geniatech PCI tv tuner card into a system with Windows XP SP3 OS, core 2 duo 3 GHz CPU, and 2 GB RAM. A video card supporting Microsoft DirectX 9.0c is required. After turning on the computer, the OS recognized the new hardware, and requested CD with drivers. During driver installation, the OS warns that the software has not passed Windows Logo testing; click on “Continue Anyway” and the drivers are installed. The “Software Install” screen appears. After installation of the DirectX software, it was necessary to reboot. After the system rebooted, and Windows XP was restarting, the system hung up, showing a blank screen. Rebooted a few times with the same result. As a remedy, rebooted into “Safe Mode” by pressing and holding “F8″ key during boot-up. This solved the problem. Next, installed the media center software, ArcSoft TotalMedia, included in the installation CD. The package includes a remote control requiring two AAA batteries not included in the package. It is necessary to plug-in the remote control cable with infrared sensor at the other end of the cable to allow line-of-sight remote control. Next, the remote control would not work; after testing the batteries to make sure they were good, turned to the installation CD to locate the infrared sensor driver, and installed it by clicking on the setup icon. An indoor digital antenna was attached to the tv tuner card BNC input and with the TotalMedia software, scanned the available channels, it worked, but an outdoor antenna would pick up more channels. Next, attached an “analog Cable” to test the QAM tuner; after a channel scan, got considerably more channels. The ArcSoft TotalMedia software works great, it allows recording to the current user’s My Documents/My Videos folder. It is not possible to record one channel and view another channel at the same time. Video recordings are “software” encoded to mpeg; ergo a Pentium 4 2.4 GHz CPU or higher is required. The package includes an FM antenna, and the software includes a “Radio” FM digital tuner, which allows for listening and recording from the tv tuner card. The installation is not for a novice; but in my system the tv tuner card with ancillary software, works great.

We received this TV as a gift and have just mounted it in the corner of our workout room using the Peerless PA740 Articulating Wall Mount for 22″ to 40″ Displays. The TV is mounted right in front of an exercise bike, and the 26″ size is perfect for that location (we had considered the 22″ size). The sound volume works for us, but my husband would prefer it to be louder if that were an option. The sound is loud enough to hear very well over the noise of an exercise bike when turned to maximum. I will need to see if there are separate speakers I can buy and mount on the tv somehow. There are audio outputs on the TV - digital coaxial and red and white rca. So far we have only used it for DVDs, and it works perfectly. The picture quality looks great even from side angles and from different heights (although the image dims when I look at it when sitting on the floor). We are very happy with the picture quality.

EDIT
We have hooked the TV to our cable line (directly, with no box), and are happy with how the TV works for watching cable. I don’t notice slow channel changing.

I’m still trying to decide whether to add external speakers. I purchased an 2 x RCA Male / 1 x 3.5mm Stereo Female, Y-Cable, 6 inch, plugged it into the RCA output on the TV, and attached it to some old computer speakers. That worked well, so I’m considering trying to buy some smaller computer speakers that I can somehow attach to the TV, which is wall mounted. Note that the speakers have to have their own power cord (some speakers out there attach via usb and no powercord, and that style would not work for this tv).
